01Overview

Running a finance & fintech organisation.

Fasttrade builds software for financial services organisations: internal workflow and approval systems, customer and agent portals, reporting tools, mobile apps and corporate websites. We work with your IT, risk and procurement teams, and expect security and governance review to be part of the project from the start.

Financial services in Malaysia are closely supervised. Banking, insurance, payments and e-money activities fall under Bank Negara Malaysia, and capital market activities under the Securities Commission. Regulated institutions also follow their own policies on technology risk, outsourcing and vendor assessment, so a supplier is judged on how it handles access, change control and data as much as on what it builds.

Most large financial groups run core platforms that have been in place for years. New software rarely replaces them. It sits beside them, reads from them and has to leave a clear record of who did what, which is where careful integration and audit design matter most.

02Common challenges

What we hear most often.

  1. 01

    Governance and vendor assessment

Procurement, information security and risk teams each review a new supplier. Documentation, access arrangements and change processes need to be ready, and timelines depend on the institution's own approval cycle.

  2. 02

    Integration with core systems

Policy, loan or account data usually sits in long-running core platforms with limited interfaces. New tools have to read and write to them carefully without disturbing production.

  3. 03

    Data protection

Personal and financial data fall under PDPA 2010, and institutions often set stricter internal rules for hosting, encryption, retention and who may view customer records.

  4. 04

    Audit trails and approvals

Every change to a customer record, transaction or approval needs to be traceable. Spreadsheets and email approvals make that hard when an auditor or regulator asks.

  5. 05

    Customer onboarding and channels

Customers compare any new portal or app with their bank's app. Identity checks, document upload and status updates have to be clear, or applications stall and support calls rise.

03How we help

Where software makes the difference.

  • 01

    Custom software and SaaS

Fasttrade can scope and build internal systems such as loan or policy administration support tools, multi-level approval workflows, agent and branch portals, document management and management reporting. We design role-based access, audit logging and integration with your core platforms from the start, and agree environments and change control with your IT and risk teams. BukuCloud, which is live, can run a group entity's own books.

  • 02

    Websites and mobile apps

We can build corporate and product websites, customer self-service portals and mobile apps for tasks such as application tracking, document submission, claims status or statements. Scoping covers identity verification providers, accessibility, device and operating system coverage, and how releases are tested and approved. Any regulatory or marketing content review requirements are built into the delivery plan.

  • 03

    Buku products

BukuCloud is live cloud accounting for invoicing, bills, receivables, the P&L and balance sheet, with accountant access. It is not a core banking or transaction system. BukuHR, for HR and administration, is in development. BukuCRM, for tracking corporate clients and partners, is available on enquiry. Regulated entities should check any Buku product against their own policies first, and we confirm fit and availability before any commitment.

05FAQ

Questions we are asked

Can Fasttrade advise on Bank Negara Malaysia licensing or compliance?

No. Fasttrade does not give legal or regulatory advice, and licensing and supervisory decisions sit with Bank Negara Malaysia, the Securities Commission and other regulators. We can build software to the requirements your compliance and legal teams set, and adjust the specification as those requirements are confirmed.

How is customer data protected in systems you build?

Security is scoped at the start of each project: access controls, encryption, hosting location, logging, and how personal data is collected and stored under PDPA 2010. If your institution has vendor security or outsourcing requirements, share them early so they become part of the specification and testing, not a late change.

Is BukuCloud suitable for a financial services company?

BukuCloud is cloud accounting for a company's own books: invoicing, bills, P&L, balance sheet and receivables, with accountant access. It is not a core banking or transaction processing system. Some entities may use it for their own accounts, but regulated institutions should check it against their internal and regulatory requirements first.
