01Overview

Running a retail & e-commerce organisation.

Fasttrade builds software for larger retail and e-commerce organisations: stock and order systems that connect outlets, warehouses, web stores and marketplaces, customer-facing apps and loyalty programmes, and corporate websites for the brand. We work with the IT and operations teams who own the systems that already run the business.

Malaysian retail follows a calendar of sale events: Hari Raya, Chinese New Year, Deepavali, year-end sales and the marketplace mega-sale days. Each brings a surge in orders and customer messages, followed by returns and quieter weeks. For a group with many outlets and several brands, the pressure falls on stock accuracy, pricing consistency and how quickly head office sees what is selling.

Most large retailers do not start from a blank page. They have a point-of-sale system, an ERP or accounting package, a warehouse process and marketplace storefronts, often bought at different times. Value usually comes from connecting these properly, not replacing everything at once.

02Common challenges

What we hear most often.

  1. 01

    Stock across outlets and channels

A product sold out in one outlet may still show as available online or on a marketplace. Overselling leads to cancellations, and stock transfers between sites are hard to follow without one shared view.

  2. 02

    Margins after fees and promotions

Marketplace commissions, payment fees, shipping subsidies and vouchers reduce the margin on each order. Without reporting by channel and brand, a busy month can still lose money.

  3. 03

    Point-of-sale and ERP integration

Sales, returns and stock movements need to reach the finance system accurately and on time. Older point-of-sale or ERP software may only offer file exports, which shapes how integration is built.

  4. 04

    Customer data in silos

Marketplace buyers sit inside each platform, and in-store customers may be unknown. Building one view of repeat customers has to respect PDPA 2010 consent and retention rules.

  5. 05

    Returns, payouts and e-invoicing

Refunds, partial returns and marketplace payouts arrive on different schedules, which makes reconciliation slow. Where e-invoicing under MyInvois applies, invoice data also has to be clean and consistent.

03How we help

Where software makes the difference.

  • 01

    Custom software and SaaS

Fasttrade can scope and build a central commerce layer: stock and order synchronisation between outlets, warehouses, your web store and marketplaces, a promotions and pricing engine, a loyalty and customer data platform, and reporting by channel, brand and outlet. We start by mapping your point-of-sale, ERP and marketplace integration options, then propose a phased build. BukuCloud, which is live, can handle accounts, SST invoicing and receivables.

  • 02

    Websites and mobile apps

We can build a branded e-commerce site or corporate website, and a customer app covering loyalty, vouchers, order tracking and store locator. For store teams, we can scope a tablet or handheld app for stock counts, transfers and click-and-collect. Scoping covers payment gateways, delivery partner links, performance during sale peaks, and how product and price data flow in from your existing systems.

  • 03

    Buku products

BukuCloud is live and covers invoicing with SST, supplier bills, receivables and the P&L. BukuHR, for HR and administration across outlets, is in development. BukuCRM, for wholesale and corporate gifting accounts, BukuReach, for campaign planning, and BukuOP, for tracking tasks and exceptions between head office and outlets, are available on enquiry. We review your current tools first and confirm fit before any commitment.

05FAQ

Questions we are asked

Can you build a system that syncs stock between our outlets and marketplaces?

This is a typical custom software project. The scope depends on which marketplaces you sell on and what integration options each allows, what your point-of-sale and ERP systems can export, and how often stock needs to update. We start by mapping your current channels and data, then propose a fixed-scope build or a phased plan.

Do we charge SST on online sales?

It depends on whether your business is registered and which tax applies to the goods or services you sell, since sales tax and service tax follow different rules. Check your position on the MySST portal or with a tax agent. Once your treatment is clear, BukuCloud can apply SST on your invoices accordingly.

Can new systems work with our existing POS and ERP?

Often, but it depends on the software and the version you run. Some offer APIs, others only scheduled file exports or database access, and each option affects speed and reliability. We review what you have before recommending whether to integrate, extend or replace, and we tell you plainly if an integration is not practical.
